Prime Minster Pavel Filip called on society to unite and support the project to integrate Moldova into the European Union. He said that Moldovan society needs a national idea that would unite everyone, would ensure prospects of overcoming divergences and would clearly show what needs to be done during the next few years for building a prosperous and stable Moldova, IPN reports.

Pavel Filip welcomed the signing by the parliamentary coalition and the European People’s Party of Moldova of a partnership agreement for achieving the European integration objective, which is open to other pro-European forces too. “But I’m firmly convinced that much broader solidarity is needed to guarantee the success of Moldova’s European course. That’s why I call on society, the ordinary people, civil rights activists and parties of any color, creation unions, professional and other kinds associations and local communities to make common cause. We, all those who are united by a common goal – the building of the European Moldova - must unite!” it is said in the Premier’s call.

The Prime Minister is confident that Moldova manages to overcome the consequences of the previous crises and some of the current problems. That’s why the time is now suitable for making a call for Moldova’s future. “Besides working on different draft decisions, laws and other documents, we should aim to become a member of the European Union towards the end of this road,” says the call.

Pavel Filip considers that a national idea is needed to unite all the people. “It depends on us to show that the Republic of Moldova deserves to form part of the future project of Europe. This is possible if all those who believe in Moldova’s European road join efforts without delay and personally and actively become involved. Let’s keep the diversity and our pluralism of opinions on other themes, but let’s also have a common impact and work together,” reads the call.

By the July 31 deadline for implementing the priority reform action roadmap, the Government of Moldova fully carried out 74 measures of the 82 planned. Another eight measures are being implemented.
