Prime Minister Pavel Filip met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin, who had been in Moldova on a two-day working visit. The two officials conferred on the latest developments in the main areas of bilateral cooperation, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, Pavel Filip welcomed the meeting of the co-chairmen of the Moldova-Russian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation, noting Moldova’s interest in developing the commercial and investment relations with the partners from Russia, especially in resuming the export of Moldovan products to the Russian market.

The settlement of the Transnistrian conflict was another subject for discussion. In this connection, the sides pleaded for continuing promoting the talks in the 5+2 format, welcoming the recent resumption of the discussions in this format in Berlin.

The interlocutors also discussed aspects of the cooperation in the field of migration and in the cultural-humanitarian sphere, underlining the necessity of promoting governmental programs for developing the relations in these areas of cooperation.
