Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in the November 30 meeting of the Cabinet, spoke about the results achieved by Moldova in the foreign policy sector during the last few weeks. He referred to the signing in Brussels of the package of documents on the €100 million in macro-financial assistance from the EU and the announcement of the allocation by this yearend of €21.5 million in direct budget support for four reform programs, namely: liberalization of the visa regime; public finances reform; liberalization of trade, and police reform.
The Premier also mentioned the results of his visit to Georgia, among which are the signing of two new cooperation agreements and strengthening of the Moldovan-Georgian cooperation relations with a view to achieving the common objective of European integration.
“The government is not perfect. We try and, in most of the cases, manage to modernize Moldova. That’s why I consider that the media institutions and political parties of the so-called opposition that stage attacks are opponents not of the government, but of the modernization of the Republic of Moldova, first of all of the people,” stated Pavel Filip.
He noted that the foreign assistance is intended for projects designed to improve the lives of people. “This money will be used to reconstruct kindergartens, schools, roads and to modernize hospitals. The Moldovan citizens do not deserve to be sacrificed for political purposes, which I consider are below the interests of the citizens,” said the Premier, calling on his colleagues from ministries to work hard and fully implement the reform agenda.
