The leader of the Democratic Party Pavel Filip said the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party will most probably not take part in the sitting where Natalia Gavrilița will ask for a vote of confidence from the MP as such a situation looks like the theater of the absurd. Furthermore, President Maia Sandu should address the people and inform them about authorities’ possibilities of managing the pandemic and economic crisis until the snap parliamentary elections, IPN reports.
The politician said the PDM wants to have a discussion with the candidate for Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița so as to see if her intentions to govern the country are serious or not. At the same time, if the candidate does not want to obtain a vote of confidence from Parliament, the President should propose methods for managing the pandemic and economic crisis until the snap elections.
“President Maia Sandu should address the people and tell us sincerely that she wants snap elections, but until then we will have money to pay pensions and salaries and the health crisis will be managed properly and we will get the vaccines and will start vaccination,” Pavel Filip stated in the talk show “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1.
The Democratic leader expressed his skepticism about the sincere wish of the parliamentary parties to trigger snap elections.
“Look at the Shor Party. I think they invested over US$10 million in their MPs for creating the platform “For Moldova”. They made this investment not for the sake of snap elections. I don’t think they want such elections,” stated Pavel Filip.
The Parliament’s Standing Bureau today will decide when the first plenary sitting of the legislature’s spring-summer session will take place. The leader of the PAS Igor Grosu said candidate for premiership Natalia Gavrilița will present her government program in Parliament next week.
