Contraband food products to the value of about 32,000 lei, smuggled from the Transnistrian region, were to be sold at markets in the municipalities of Balti and Chisinau. The 23 packs with refrigerated meat and 24 bottles with ethylic alcohol were found in a vehicle with Transnistrian license numbers, IPN has learned from the National Patrolling Inspectorate.

The inspectors stopped the car on the R-13 road, between Tareuca and Piscaresti villages of Rezina district, following reports that contraband from Transnistria was being transported. The driver had no documents showing the quality and origin of the goods.

Another smuggling case was identified in Rezina town. Patrolling inspectors stopped a vehicle for a check and found bags with perfumes, containers for liquid clothes and dish washing detergents and boxes with powder detergent in it. The goods were confiscated, while the driver was escorted to the Rezina Police Inspectorate for providing explanations.
