Two patrolling inspectors from Soldanesti were arrested by officers of the National Anticorruption Center and anticorruption prosecutors on passive corruption charges. These asked for 2,500 lei for not documenting a case of driving under the influence, IPN reports.
The suspects were caught in the act of receiving the money transmitted under the control of officers of the National Anticorruption Center. They were placed under arrest for 72 hours.
The patrolling inspectors face five to ten years in jail, a fine of up to 160,000 lei and ban on holding particular public posts or performing particular activities for a period of seven to ten years.
