The patent holders will continue to stage protests even if the lawmakers on April 11 adopted a bill that provides better work conditions for small entrepreneurs in the first reading, IPN reports.
Under the bill, the ceiling on patentees’ annual incomes from sales will be increased three times, to 300,000 lei. The patent holders will be allowed to work in areas of up to 30 meters, as against practically twice lower until now, and to sell in kiosks and stalls, thing that is now banned.
Veaceslav Ionita, chairman of the commission for economy, budget and finance, said a ceiling will be also put on local taxes, which are now not limited. This aspect will be considered within a working group before the second reading.
Contacted by IPN, Small Business Association chairman Eugen Roscovanu said the patentees are not sure that this bill will solve all their problems as the time when the bill will be passed in the final reading and published in the Official Gazette and its final form are not known. The bill deals with only a small part of the problems. The patentees protested in front of the Palace of the Republic for a year, demanding better work conditions.
The bill was put forward by the PDM and PLDM.
