Passengers without tickets will be penalized

The persons who will travel by trolleybuses, minibuses or buses without tickets will be fined up to 400 lei. The conductors who intentionally ignore the passengers without tickets will pay a fine of 1,200 lei. The penalties are provided in a bill with amendments to the Criminal Code that was passed by Parliament in the first reading, IPN reports.

The new provisions apply to drivers, conductors and passengers.

In the case of interurban trips, the driver of the unit of transport, the conductor and the persons who authorize the vehicle to set off will be fined 800 to 1,200 lei.

The trips without ticket by buses and minibuses on suburban, interurban and international routes and by trains or ships will be punished with a fine of 400 to 600 lei. The carriers that will not issue the vehicles running on routes with tickets will be fined 10,000 lei for every violation. The same penalty will be imposed on those providing illegal passenger transportation services.
