Passenger bus collides with vehicle in Sangerei

Four persons were rushed to the Balti Municipal Hospital with injuries after a passenger bus collided head-on with car on the R14 road, not far from the Bilicenii Vechi village of Sangerei district, in the evening of July 21.

Contacted by IPN, the head of the press service of the National Patrolling Inspectorate Diana Fetco said the accident happened at 20.45. A speeding BMW moved to the opposite lane and collided head-on with a passenger bus. Both of the drivers were admitted to the Balti hospital with multiple fractures. Two women from the bus were taken to the hospital with fractures of the backbone and of the thorax.

Several hours after the accident, four more passengers from the bus sought medical assistance. They were diagnosed with fractures of the clavicle and concussions. The exact number of passengers is not known as a part of them left the place of the accident before the police arrived.

Another road accident happened near Bilicenii Vechi village on July 19. A motorcycle driven by a man aged 25 crashed frontally into a vehicle. As a result of the impact, both of the drivers died on the spot, while the motorcycle and car passengers were admitted to the reanimatology section of the Sangerei district hospital.

Nine persons died in traffic accidents last Saturday and Sunday, July 20 and 21.
