The Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) decided to withdraw its political support for five councilors of Rezina district and exclude them from the party, MP Vitalie Jacot announced, making reference to the PAS National Standing Bureau’s decision. Some of the councilors involved reacted to the decision, complaining about pressure, IPN reports.

The district councilors excluded from the PAS are Sergiu Bagrin, Veaceslav Curecheru, Genady Josanu, Aliona Cuiban, and Stepanida Druță. "Thus, the Party of Action and Solidarity’s group on the Rezina District Council ceases to exist and those mentioned can no longer represent the party and cannot act on behalf of the PAS. It is regrettable that non-conformities, statutory violations were committed and particular principles and values, which are the basis of the PAS’s work, of the work of all party members, were neglected," said Vitalie Jacot.

As the law does not imply the termination of the term in office in case of loss of political support, the MP urged his former colleagues to vacate the posts of councilor as these were obtained in elections by the party.

Vitalie Jacot also said that the five councilors discredited those values that they were to use as basis in their activities. "We will examine the entire activity. There are signs of misconduct. We will determine how serious they are from the angle of the legislation and, if necessary, will notify the relevant bodies," said the parliamentarian.

One of the councilors concerned, Sergiu Bagrin, said that Vitalie Jacot believes that "Rezina is a colony and they can name each other in charge without the decision of the National Political Bureau, without the agreement of the local team, without discussions at the meeting of the PAS Rezina local organization’ standing bureau." "They think that we in the district are fools, who have no opinions, we do not have the right to decide and we do not have the right to express ourselves. He and others believe that we are good at distributing newspapers and always bowing to them," stated Sergiu Bagrin.

Councilor Aliona Cuiban also came with a reaction, saying that "some, after becoming MPs, lose the ground under their feet." According to her, pressure started to be exerted on her when she told Vitalie Jacot that only Maia Sandu is a personality for her in the Republic of Moldova is. "I also told several truths related to the PAS Rezina Convention by which there were elected the head of the PAS Rezina local organization, the deputy heads and the bureau that was dissolved two weeks later because the person that MP Radu Marian wanted was not elected as head of the PAS Rezina organization. After the discussion with Jacot, pressure began to be exerted and either the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection or to the Center-East Local Agency of Social Assistance was requested to do everything possible for me to be dismissed from the position I hold - head of the Rezina Local Social Assistance Division,” said Aliona Cuiban.
