The MPs of the Party of Action and Solidarity on July 16 will sign the motion of no confidence proposed by their colleagues from the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”, PAS leader Maia Sandu stated, noting she also discussed with representatives of the Democratic Party so as to persuade them to vote for the removal of the Government and secure the necessary number of votes. But the Democrats reiterated their position that they will not take part in the vote, IPN reports.
Maia Sandu told a news conference that Dodon’s government is the key vote rigging instrument, while the ministries make presents through the state social assistance in exchange for the promise to vote for Igor Dodon. “We will not allow Igor Dodon to transform the democratic process into a fair where the votes in the Transnistrian region are bought for US$ 20 that was stolen by them from us, while the loyalty of mayors is bought with state budget funds,” said the politician.
According to the PAS leader, the Socialists want the parliamentary session to be closed earlier and hasten those amendments to the electoral legislation so as to help Igor Dodon keep the office of President.
Maia Sandu noted that the PAS will today sign the motion of no confidence submitted by the PPPDA in the hope that the PDM will review its position and will support the motion as they also have objections to the current Government. No matter what the fate of this motion is, the PAS will defend the right to have a normal administration in people’s interests, the right to free and fair elections and can even take to the streets, if necessary.
As to the amendments to the electoral legislation, PAS MP Sergiu Litvinenco said that civil society submitted 129 pages with amendments to the electoral legislation to the Parliament’s legal commission for appointments and immunities, but the latter rejected the amendments without providing arguments. The bill to amend the electoral legislation was included in the agenda of today’s sitting of Parliament very swiftly, but some of those amendments generate concern. The problem of illegal transportation of voters in the Transnistrian region to polling stations for money remained uncovered.
