The candidates running for MP on behalf of the Party of Action and Solidarity said they will implement 22 large projects through the next Parliament and the next Government that they will form. Among these are the repair of 2,800 km of national roads and 3,000 km of rural roads. Also, those from the PAS promise to build two bridges over the Prut and one bridge over the Nistru and to erect two regional hospitals – in Cahul and Bălți, IPN reports.

In a news conference, the acting president of the PAS Igor Grosu said that public funds for projects existed, but they were misappropriated and wasted for years. If they were distributed, this was done according to political criteria, not based on economic and technical analyses. “The public procurement and tender contests are rigged and won by those who are close to the corrupt officials, while the projects are implemented with delay and in an improper way. This way, the rehabilitation of roads lasts for years and holes appear immediately after it rains or snows,” noted the MP.

PAS vice president Natalia Gavrilița noted that the PAS will rehabilitate the Giurgiulești-Galați bridge, will build the European railway up to Chisinau and will develop modern transport systems in the main towns of the city. It will rehabilitate the regional airports, starting with Bălți-Leadoveni, by revamping also the infrastructure of terminals and runways. In the energy system, they will ensure Moldova’s interconnection with Romania by finishing the construction of the station in Vulcănești and the Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline.

In education, the party will renovate at least 500 kindergartens, will extend the services of crèches-kindergartens and will ensure that all the schools and kindergartens have modern sanitary facilities. The PAS promises to restore the most important cultural buildings in the country, including the National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich”, the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History and the Circus of Chisinau.

Natalia Gavrilița said that for infrastructure projects, the PAS will mobilize internal and foreign resources. A separate entity responsible for the implementation of large infrastructure projects will be created, while the public investment process will be depoliticized.
