It is not enough for the citizens to drive away the thieves from executive posts together with the parliamentary elections. Justice should be done to the people and institutions that will not allow stealing and will punish harshly those who steal public funds should be built. An authentic justice sector reform is vital for ensuring better living conditions as the pensions and salaries cannot be raised, roads, schools, kindergartens and hospitals cannot be repaired as long as the money for such purposes goes to thieves, said PAS candidate for MP Sergiu Litvinenco. According to him, the day the constitution sitting of the new legislative body is held, PAS will submit two bills to amend the Constitution, which were already drafted, to the Constitutional Court, IPN reports.

In a news conference, Sergiu Litvinenco said the first is a bill aimed at simplifying the mechanism for confiscating the property of government functionaries and public figures based on the reversal of the burden of proof. Not only the state will have to prove that the property was gained legally, but also the functionary. If this does not do it, the real, not only the declared property should be confiscated.

The second bill strips of immunity the MPs who are suspected of money laundering, passive corruption, influence peddling and unjust enrichment.

After the Constitutional Court appraises the bills, these will be introduced into Parliament. “We will not hesitate to promote harsh measures. That’s why, immediately after the elections, we will start to clean the justice system so as to do justice to the people,” stated the PAS candidate.
