The Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) accuses President Igor Dodon of treason and violation of the Constitution and of other legal provisions. On August 29, the party’s jurist submitted a denouncement against President Dodon to the Prosecutor General’s Office, IPN reports.

Jurist Sergiu Litvinenko told the press the denouncement says that Igor Dodon intentionally took action to incite hatred, differentiation and national, ethnic, racial and religious division. “Things are rather clear – the President elected by fraud and manipulation violates the constitutional provisions, especially those concerning the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova. In point of fact, he does not represent the state Republic of Moldova, but, regrettably, represents another state that is not necessarily a friend of the Republic of Moldova,” he stated.

The jurist is skeptical about the success of their approach given that the prosecution service is politically controlled. However, they hope that the prosecutors will do their job in the interests of the people, not of political figures or parties.

According to the PAS, President Dodon openly identifies himself with the interests of the Russian Federation instead of promoting the national interests of the Republic of Moldova. Igor Dodon also openly promotes solutions that are unacceptable for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and are against the national interest to settle the Transnistrian conflict, such as the federalization of the republic and its “Transnistrization”.
