The Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) described Vlad Plahotniu’s statement that the PDM is ready to support a common candidate of the pro-European parties and the parties of the right as deceiving. The PAS considers that by his statements the Democratic leader confirmed the existence of a PDM-PSRM alliance for the mayoral elections in Chisinau, IPN reports.
“The administration of the PDM, obeying the tradition of supporting the Socialists’ candidate, wants this time again to make Ceban (e.n. Ion Ceban, leader of the Socialist group on the Chisinau Council) or any other candidate of the PSRM for mayoralty the winner. Their statements are deceiving and this fact was demonstrated in the presidential campaign, when they wanted to denigrate the common pro-European candidate by their toxic support, but in reality supported Dodon with all their administrative and media instruments,” said the PAS.
The party also said that it will not negotiate with the PDM this and other issues and it reiterated this position for many times and on different occasions. The PAS reminds that the decision not to hold negotiations and not to cooperate with the PDM and PSRM, which are to blame for the disaster in the county, was adopted at the September 10, 2017 Congress of the Party “Action and Solidarity”.
The leader of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc on March 6 announced that the party will not have an own candidate for the post of mayor general of Chisinau municipality, but is ready to support a common candidate of the pro-European parties and the parties of the right. According to him, a common candidate of the Party “Action and Solidarity”, the Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth”, the Liberal Party and the European People’s Party of Moldova, who will be supported by the PDM, has real chances of winning the early local mayoral elections in the municipality of Chisinau.
