The Party “Action and Solidarity” pleads for increasing the remuneration of the elderly persons with disabilities who continue to work after retirement and for improving the retirement conditions of the persons who looked after persons with severe disabilities in 1999 – 2017. Within the project “Correct Pensions for All” that was initiated last November, the parliamentary group of the PAS registered two legislative proposals that were presented by MP Dan Perciun in a press briefing, IPN reports.

Referring to the proposal concerning persons with disabilities who continue to work after obtaining a specific pension, the MP said these persons now cannot have their pensions recalculated, unlike the persons who got an old-age pension and continue to work. The bill is designed to eliminate the discriminatory and unjustified differentiation. “In the Republic of Moldova, there are about 120,000 recipients of such pensions who monthly get by 1,400 lei on average. We consider it would be equitable for the given persons to be able to benefit from the contributions they pay into the budget,” stated Dan Perciun.

The PAS suggests calculating the pensions for looking after persons with severe disabilities not on the basis of the minimum salary of 1,000 lei, but of the average salary in the economy that now exceeds 7,000 lei.

Besides, the party proposes recalculating the pensions of people who looked after persons with severe disabilities between 1999 and 2017. Owing to a legislative mistake, said the MP, this period wasn’t included in the insurance period. In 2017, the mistake was corrected, but the decision didn’t have a retroactive effect.

Dan Perciun noted that the project “Correct Pensions for All” also includes the capping of super-pensions and the approximating of the retirement conditions applicable to judges and those applicable to the other members of society.
