A company that the PAS councilors from the Chisinau Municipal Council call dubious is the only participant and the winner of the tender contest to allot the contract for the alimentation of students of education institutions of Centru district of Chisinau. Mayor General Ion Ceban is asked to order an internal inquiry and to come with a report in the CMC meeting in at most three weeks, IPN reports.
In a news conference on February 4, Angela Munteanu-Pojoga and Zinaida Popa, municipal councilors of the Party of Action and Solidary, said that this is the company Pontem that appeared on the Moldovan market in October 2018. During its first months of works, it won a contract to supply 66 primary and secondary education institutions in Strășeni district with food. “It should be noted that this firm in Lithuania was put on the blacklist because it supplied milk that didn’t meet the norms,” state Zinaida Popa.
“The circumstances in which Pontem entered the Moldovan market and the absence of other bidders at the tender contests staged by the Centru Education Division suggest that this company was somehow supported. These tender contests were held exclusively for them.”
On a social networking site, Ion Ceban wrote that a working group was constituted to monitor the process of providing the children of pre-university education institutions of Chisinau with warm meals during February 10 – May 31. “We received a number of signals from parents, who said that the rights of children are being violated. I hope this is not so. At the same time, there are councilors who do not know the situation in the field, but make political statements,” wrote the mayor.
