The Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) maintains its commitment to nominate a common candidate for President and respects the non-aggression pact signed with the pro-European opposition parties, says a statement issued by the party’s National Standing Bureau, quoted by IPN.

According to the statement, as a result of the latest events related to the agreement to nominate a common candidate reached by the three parties, the idea that a poll or a series of polls are not enough for choosing the anti-oligarchic opposition’s candidate has been more insistently spread. However, the PAS National Standing Bureau insists that this method, even if it’s not perfect, continues to be the most democratic and objective instrument for testing the people’s support for the common candidate and for measuring the real chances that this has to reach the second round of voting and to finally win.

“We invite all our supporters and those who support the PAS’ candidate for the office of President to respect the assumed commitments and not to allow to be engaged in activities that defame the anti-oligarchic coalition partners. Only together can we beat the candidate of the corrupt power,” reads the statement.

In the same connection, the PAS says the throwing of support to one of the candidates before the poll results are made known is hasty and is against the undertaken agreements.
