The Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) led by Maia Sandu hopes to get one third of seats in Parliament after the upcoming legislative elections, the party’s secretary general Igor Grosu stated in the program “Important” on TVC21 channel, IPN reports.

According to Igor Grosu, one third of seats would be a score that would enable to influence the possible alliances. “As each party that is taking part in electoral competitions, we intend to gain power,” said the PAS secretary general.

Igor Grosu stated that the PAS excludes categorically an alliance with the Democratic Party and the Party of Socialists in the future legislature. The party is having negotiations with the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” on possible cooperation in elections, but wants first to see how the electoral constituencies are created. “We are ready to negotiate will all the parties if this system is kept. We are also ready to discuss with private individuals if a candidate with electoral potential supported by voters appears in a constituency, given that there will be only one round of voting,” he stated.

Political commentator Valeriu Ostalep anticipated that Maia Sandu’s party will get at most 20 seats in the future Parliament. He said the PAS should know for sure what it will do in the next Parliament – will be in the opposition or will form an alliance with the Democrats and the Socialists.
