The Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPPDA) and the Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) became observe members of the European People’s Party (EPP). The decision was taken unanimously in the EPP’s Political Assembly held in Brussels on December 5, IPN reports.
PPPDA leader Andrei Nastase congratulated the citizens of Moldova and thanked the European partners for the provided support, reiterating the message of unity that is intensely promoted by the Platform Dignity and Truth. “During the protests and later, we showed consistency in our message about the consolidation of all the healthy and powerful forces of Moldova with the aim of struggling for the fundamental rights of our citizens,” stated Andrei Nastase, being quoted in a press release of the party.
“The Party “Action and Solidarity” was registered today. I congratulate all the members and supporters of the PAS!” the party’s leader Maia Sandu wrote on her Facebook page.
Siegfried Muresan, spokesman for the EPP, said that the preparation of the victory of the two parties in the elections of 2018 starts from today. “The objective of the EPP is clear – to win these elections and to give the Republic of Moldova a government that would bring Moldova closer to Europe. The citizens of the Republic of Moldova deserve a better political class than what they have had until now,” Siegfried Muresan wrote on his Facebook page.
The EPP was founded in 1976 by Western Christian-Democratic parties, but later accepted also European conservative parties and other political parties of the center-right among its ranks.
