Five categories of people and households may benefit from subventions during the cold period of the year, if the Parliament adopts a draft law in this respect. The initiative belongs to the Liberal-Democratic Party (PLDM), which lodged the bill with the Steady Bureau of the Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports.
PLDM leader Vlad Filat has told a news conference that as many as 368,000 families may enjoy heat subventions. They are families with disabled members, families having lost their caretaker, large families, retirees, still they have to meet two conditions: their monthly income per member should be less than subsistence minimum and the applicant should live permanently in the locality.
Depending on their types of heating system, those households may get from 500 and 1,400 lei. The money would be allocated from the state budget.
PLDM's first deputy president Alexandru Tanase, a Chisinau councilor, says the aid may be granted to the same types of beneficiaries from Chisinau. He has criticized the implementation of the respective regulation adopted by the Chisinau Municipal Council, saying the district offices have got no application, although the City Hall was to end the process of collecting the applications till October 15.
PLDM says it will organize protests in Chisinau's downtown on October 26 against the “the failing agrarian policy of the ruling Communists Party, in order to uncover the poor agrarian policies who led to ruining the farmers.” Filat says the action will end in a march to the Presidential Palace “to give comrade Voronin a present from farmers,” but did not elaborate.
