The Party of Socialists calls on all opposition forces to initiate an open discussion and to strengthen efforts in the political struggle against the current regime. "We need to fight not only for the democratic conduct of the elections, but also to work out a common protest agenda that reflects the interests of citizens and not those of the political elites," reads a PSRM statement, cited by IPN.

According to the socialists, the elections under the current conditions cannot be considered democratic, "the power has practically captured the key institutions - the CEC, the courts, the structures of force, state control and supervision bodies and has closed down inconvenient media".

According to PSRM, the time has come for the formation of a common vision among opposition forces. "We call on opposition parties and civic movements to dialog, mutual respect and joint work to solve the problems facing our country. Only by uniting can we defend democracy, citizens' rights and the future of the Republic of Moldova," the statement said.

According to the Socialists, "the unity of the opposition is the first step towards restoring stability and prosperity in the Republic of Moldova".
