Parties will get by 0.85 lei for each vote gained in 2021 snap elections

The Central Election Commission set the monthly state budget subsidies that will be paid to political parties in 2023. The sum totals 49.98 million lei and is by about 7 million lei higher than in 2022, IPN reports.

Under the legal provisions, the subsidies are distributed as follows: 30% to political parties proportionally to the results obtained in the parliamentary elections and in the local general elections; 15% to political parties proportionally to the results obtained in the presidential elections; 7.5% to the political parties proportionally to the number of women effectively elected in the parliamentary elections; 7,5% to the political parties proportionally to the number of women effectively elected in the local elections; 5% to the political parties proportionally to the number of young people effectively elected in the parliamentary elections; 5% to the political parties proportionally to the number of young people effectively elected in the local elections.

This way, in accordance with the CEC decision, the monthly subsidy for parties will be: 0.85 lei – for each valid vote obtained in in the snap parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021; 0.43 lei – for each valid vote obtained in the local general elections of October 20, 2019; 0.68 lei – for each valid vote obtained in the presidential election of November 1, 2020; 7,809.48 lei – for each woman elected effectively in the snap parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021; 75.83 lei – for each woman elected effectively in the local general elections of October 20, 2019; 13,015.80 lei – for each young person elected effectively in snap parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021 and 123.29 lei – for each young person elected effectively in the local general elections of October 20, 2019.

The state budget subsidies will be transferred monthly to the bank accounts opened for the purpose by the political parties.

For the illegal collection of financial resources, the payment of the state budget subsidy to the People’s Party of the Republic of Moldova was suspended until the sum of 12,000 lei is reached.

Following the examination of the financial management reports for the second half of 2022 and the supervision of the incomes and costs of electoral contenders in the campaign prior to the snap local elections of May 29, 2022, the Shor Party was banned from receiving the state budget subsidy for a period of six months, in the amount of about 1.74 million lei.
