The representatives of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” deny the idea of forming an electoral bloc together with the Liberal Democratic Party and say that they will compete in the July 11 snap electrons independently and are sure that they will enter the next Parliament. Those from the Party of Action and Solidarity anticipate they will obtain a majority of seats in the next legislature, while the representatives of Our Party decided to form an electoral bloc named “Renato Usatyi” as they bank on the popularity of the mayor of Bălți among the voters, IPN reports.

According to representatives of Our Party, the formation of the electoral bloc “Renato Usatyi” represents the wish to do justice to the party that was excluded from the electoral race in 2014. Later, the ECHR ruled in favor of the party “Patria” whose list of candidates was topped by Renato Usatyi.

“This is a political riposte to Dodon’s intention to fill the ballot paper with clones. Furthermore, the goal is to obtain justice for the action taken in 2014, when the regime committed the most serious crime against electoral democracy in the Republic of Moldova by removing Renato Usatyi’s party from the race. The electoral bloc is a continuation of the first round of the presidential elections, when 230,000 citizens voted consciously for Renato Usatyi,” Ilian Cașu stated in the program “Ghețu Asks” on TV8 channel.

For their part, representatives of the PPPDA denied the disseminated rumors, saying the party led by Andrei Năstase will not form an electoral bloc with the PLDM.

“We do not intend to form a bloc. We accept personalities from civil society, from other parties into our platform, if they didn’t discredit themselves, but an electoral bloc is out of the question. Someone from the PPPDA had discussions with representatives of the PLDM, but this does not mean anything,” said PPPDA MP Kiril Moțpan.

The MPs of the PAS said they are against forming an electoral bloc with the PPPDA by the model of the ACUM Bloc.

“We form part of the same European family together with the PPPDA, but we are yet different. We have our distinct voters and have different views about the process of managing the country. That’s why we will take part in elections by ourselves now,” said PAS MP Virgil Pîslariuc.

Under the Electoral Code, the electoral threshold for blocs consisting of two parties is 7%, while for blocks formed by three parties is 9%.
