A number of parties face penalties because they didn’t present financial reports on time, IPN reports, with reference to the Central Election Commission.
The time limit for submitting financial reports for the first half of 2020 by parties was July 15. Of the 48 political parties that are officially registered in Moldova, 13 didn’t present the given reports.
The Central Election Commission said financial reports were to be filed in electronic form, through the information system “Financial Control”, and on paper, according to the models of documents available in the annexes to the regulations concerning the financing of political parties’ activities. Twelve parties presented reports with incomplete data.
The non-presentation of financial reports by political parties by the set deadline and in the set format, in accordance with the law, and the presentation of incomplete data are violations that carry administrative liability.
