The political parties of Moldova do not respect their political doctrines and use these to attract voters. Such a conclusion was formulated in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
Journalist Valeriu Renita considers the party doctrines in Moldova are misinterpreted. “In our country, they think that the left means pro-Russia, while the right means pro-Europe. This is incorrect. In Europe, there are many parties of the left, including in power, and they are not pro-Russian. The geopolitical factor is used by the political parties to attract voters from one segment or another. But this does not mean that the doctrine on which the party is based is respected. In fact, our politicians can do even somersaults in order to attract more voters,” he stated.
Former heavyweight of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Valentin Krylov considers in its current form, the PSRM is far from the Socialist doctrine. “The PSRM uses the name of socialism because it is very attractive to the ordinary people. Those from the PSRM are not genuine Socialists. Socialism means being close to ordinary people’s needs. In Moldova, we do not have authentic Socialist parties,” he stated.
Expert of the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul” Corneliu Ciurea said the deviations from the doctrines are typical of the parties of the left and of the right too. “The doctrinaire orientation for the Moldovan parties is a label rather that a principle of work,” he stated.
