A number of 2 141 polling places were established for the February 24 parliamentary elections and the national consultative referendum, 2 018 of which on Moldova’s terroir and 123 abroad. The main voter rolls include 2 802 148 people. Information about the participation in elections can be followed in real time on pv.cec.md, IPN reports.

A number of 13 844 988 ballots were printed overall, 3 461 247 for the parliamentary elections in the national and single-member constituencies and by 3 461 247 ballots for each of the two questions put up for the plebiscite.

The elections are monitored by 3,389 national observers and 776 international observers.

The 101 Members of Parliament are to be elected in Moldova today. There are 15 election contestants in the national constituency and 321 contenders in the 51 single-member constituencies.

The voters can also take part in the consultative referendum and answer two questions: “Do you want the number of MPs to be reduced from 101 to 61?” and “Do you want the MPs to be recalled if these do not fulfil their duties?”.

The Central Election Commission said at 7am on February 24, all the polling places established on Moldova’s territory were opened without incidents and work properly.

The voters from the left side of the Nistru River can cast their ballots at 47 distinct polling places created in single-member constituencies No.47 and No.48, in localities that are administered by the constitutional authorities of Moldova.
