Ambassadors of the states and organizations that take part in the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the 5+2 format visited one of the migration points on the Nistru, set up in Harbovat, Anenii Noi. Contacted by IPN, the head of the Reintegration Office Gheorghe Balan said the participants in the talks were able to familiarize themselves with the work of the migration point and to put the questions worrying them.
Gheorghe Balan said the six migration points have the necessary infrastructure and equipment. Parliament is to adopt the necessary legislation so that these points work in normal regime.
Contacted by IPN, Ambassador Jennifer Brush, head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, said the fact-finding visit was very useful. “The Moldovan officials showed us the post and explained the procedure, expressing their wish to ensure the free movement of the holders of foreign passports living in Transnistria. All the members of the negotiations in the 5+2 format were present,” she stated.
The political representative of Tiraspol Nina Shtanski told the Transnistrian press that the Moldovan authorities plan to build a real border on the Nistru. Afterward, it will be enough to modify one legal provision for these points to become checkpoints.
The foreigners coming to Moldova will be able to register at the six migration points set up on the Nistru. The Moldovan authorities assured that these points will not hinder the people’s movement.
