Partial elections will be held in Cealîc village of Taraclia district and in Chioselia Rusă and Cotovscoe villages of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia on March 3, 2024, as the Central Election Commison decided on Wednesday, IPN reports.
In these localities, only one person representing the Chance Party contended for mayor or for local councilor in the November 5 general local elections. The Commission for Exceptional Satiations ordered to annul the registration of the candidates put forward by this party.
Under the electoral legislation, partial elections are held when mayors or the necessary number of councilors in one or several electoral districts are not elected in the general local elections.
On March 3, 2024, partial elections will be held to choose a new composition of the Cealîc local council and the mayors of Chioselia Rusă and Cotovscoe villages.
