The July 16 sitting of the Parliament was the last of the current spring-summer session. Though the legislative body adopted a decision to officially close the session on July 19, there will be held no summing up sitting. Speaker Mihai Ghimpu did not thank the MPs for their work as they may be gathered for extraordinary sittings during summer, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Mihai Ghimpu asked the MPs not to go on vacation abroad, but remain near the people given the natural disasters that hit Moldova.
First Deputy Speaker Serafim Urecheanu said no sitting where the Head of Parliament will present a performance report will take place. “It is not the right time to boast, though we have what to be lauded for – cooperation with European institutions, commencement of important projects, signed agreements, the fact that the people receive the salaries and pensions in time,” said Urecheanu.
The lawmakers said they have a lot of field work to do, but hope they will find 2-3 days to rest. Many of them said they intend to go to the country. The Parliament will resume work after the September 5 referendum.
