Tuesday's meeting of the Parliament opened with a break. After voting on the agenda, the MPs announced a 20-minute break at the suggestion of the member of the Alliance for European Integration Ion Plesca, without invoking reasons. The parliamentary group of the Communists Party (PCRM) considers the Alliance does not have enough votes to agree the items included in the agenda, Info-Prim Neo reports.
”It is evident that they do not have sufficient votes. This shows that the Parliament is not functional. If some of the Alliance's members get sick or go on a trip, the voting process is blocked,” said the Communist MP Vladimir Turcan.
Ninety-five MPs are present at the meeting. The head of the parliamentary commission for foreign policy Igor Corman, who is on a trip, and five Communist MPs, including the PCRM leader Vladimir Voronin, are absent.
Some of the members of the coalition were seen entering the assembly hall after the agenda was voted on. But at the start of the sitting they have been announced as attending the meeting.
Today, the Parliament is to discuss the subjects proposed for last Friday's meeting, which was postponed because a number of MPs, who are simultaneously ministers, went to a meeting with a Swedish delegation. The MPs are to adopt several laws in second reading.
