The September 28 sitting of the Parliament was put off after the Government assumed responsibility for amending the budget law.
“I regret that it happened at the end of the mandate, before the elections. We all four assumed responsibility to govern and adopted the government program. Now Mister Filat, as chairman of the Liberal-Democratic Party, considers he does not need the alliance and assumed responsibility by himself,” Acting President Mihai Ghimpu, the leader of the Liberal Party, said in a press briefing after the meeting of the governing alliance.
Ghimpu also said the Government can amend the budget law when the bill is rejected by Parliament, but this did not happen.
The chairman of the Moldova Noastra Alliance Serafim Urecheanu said the alliance discussed the possibility of increasing pensions, not only the provision of assistance to persons in need. They also considered allocating 200 million lei for the agroindustrial sector, not 100 million lei as the Government planned. Urecheanu stressed that they overlooked many maneuvers of Vlad Filat after the alliance started to govern.
Democrat leader Marian Lupu said the allowance of 130 lei a month is not sufficient and the governing alliance should work out an optimal method for solving a number of social problems. He said that the September 27 decision of the Government defies the alliance as not all the members of the Cabinet knew its content.
The representatives of the PLDM left the meeting of the ruling alliance before it ended. MP Mihai Shleahitski said they withdrew because their colleagues from the alliance attacked them for the decision to assume responsibility for amending the budget law taken by the Government.
