The Court of Auditors hasn’t identities distortions in the financial reports of the Parliament’s Secretariat. The audit report on the financial situations on December 31, 2017 was presented in the Court of Auditors’ plenary meeting of December 4, IPN reports.

The incomes of the Parliament’s Secretariat in 2017 came to 132.3 million lei. The incomes were correctly indicated in the financial reports. As to the managed property, whose value was assessed at 152.9 million lei, the audit team established that all the assets were registered in accordance with the existing regulations.

Given that the Parliament’s Building had to be repaired, the audit team recommended the Ministry of Finance to work out the method of applying the norms concerning the inclusion of the costs related to the formulation of project documentation, obtaining of technical prescriptions and payment authorizations by budget-funded institutions into building expenses. These costs increase the cost of buildings.

According to the Court of Auditors, distortions weren’t identified in the determination of the wear degree of fixed assets and depreciation of intangible assets either. The costs of the audited authorities were correctly indicated in the financial reports, including those related to employees’ salaries.

Court of Auditors president Veaceslav Untila said the results achieved by the Parliament’s Secretariat in the management of public finances made the audit team to formulate an opinion without reservations. He noted this is due to the Parliament’s secretary general Ala Popescu, who headed the Court of Auditors during many years.
