The XX Moldovan Parliament will assemble for its inaugural session on December 29, as decided at a meeting between President Nicolae Timofti and representatives of the parliamentary parties, IPN reports.
Socialist Zinaida Greceanii told reporters after the meeting that the decision is long due and the Parliament should have convened much earlier.
Artur Resetnicov, of the Communist Party, said that December 29 is an appropriate date.
Vlad Filat, the president of the Liberal Democratic Party, agreed that December 29 is an optimal date to convene the Parliament, adding that the negotiations on the coalition formation are on-going.
Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu said he is confident that the pro-European parliamentary majority will be formed by the time of the inaugural session.
