The MPs adopted the Parliament’s budget for 2016 in the June 9 sitting of the legislature. Thus, the legislative body this year will get 141 million lei from the state budget, IPN reports.
According to the chairman of the Parliament’s commission on economy, budget and finance Stefan Creanga, 58 million lei of the 141 million lei will go to pay salaries, 27 million lei to pay for goods and services, while 26 million lei to purchase fixed assets. A sum of 12 million lei will be used to pay contributions to the social insurance budget, 2 million lei to pay contributions to the health insurance budget, while 4 million lei to cover the costs associated with business trips.
Stefan Creanga noted that the 2016 budget of Parliament is smaller than that for 2015.
Communist MP Oxana Domenti suggested modifying the method of purchasing tickets for MPs’ trips abroad. According to her, the tickets can be bought over the Internet from different travel agencies at prices that are 3-4 times lower than from companies that won the contest for providing this service. This way the costs will be significantly reduced.
