The constitution of the parliamentary platform For Moldova was announced in Parliament on November 19. This consists of the six MPs who left the parliamentary group Pro Moldova and said they would remain unaffiliated and the MPs of the Shor Party, IPN reports.
MP Sergiu Sîrbu, who is the platform’s secretary, said the goal is to promote a broad agenda that is awaited by the people. “The MPs who joined the platform For Moldova will support and will vote all the bills that are beneficial to the people, to Moldova. We hope all the parliamentary groups will adopt a similar approach,” he stated.
In a press release, the Shor Party said the members of the party’s parliamentary group remain fully-fledged members of Parliament. “The joining of the parliamentary platform For Moldova does not mean the disappearance of the group of the Shor Party, but it means the combination of forces for adopting the bills that are awaited by the people and are needed by the country,” runs the press release.
The six MPs who left Pro Moldova are: Sergiu Sîrbu, Ruxanda Glavan, Grigore Repeshchuk, Eleonora Graur, Corneliu Padnevici and Elena Bacalu.
The Shor Party has nine MPs, including Ilan Shor, who hasn’t come to sittings since last summer, and Violeta Ivanov and Vladimir Vitiuc, who joined the party in May 2020.
