Parliamentary elections in Romania ended

All the polling stations for the parliamentary elections in Romania, including those in Moldova closed at 21.00, Info-Prim Neo reports. About 2,300 Romanian citizens voted in Chisinau, and the poll unfolded withoud any incidents or breeches, the electoral officials said. According to the results of the exit-polls aired by Romanian media, no political party will be have the majority in the Senate or in the Deputies Chamber, but the Social Democratic Party got most of the votes. Thus, according to exit-polls for the Senate the parties got the following rates: PSD – 35.9%, PD-L – 31.1%, PNL – 19.9%, UDMR – 6.7%, PRM – 3.4%, PNG – 2.1%. According to the Insomar exit-polls for the Deputies Chamber: PSD got 36.2%, PD-L - 30.3%, PNL – 20.4%, UDMR – 6.7%, PRM – 3.3%, PNG – 2.1% According to the CCSB polls, for the Deputies Chamber the following rates are forecast: PSD -PC: 36.5%, PD-L – 30.6%, PNL 20.4%, UDMR – 6.7, PRM 2.5. For the Senate: PSD-PC - 36%, PD-L – 30.9%, PNL – 20.2%, UDMR – 7.3%, PRM 2.6%. PSD leader Mircea Geoana stated Sunday after the announcement of the exit polls results, that the Social Democrats must lead the future government. “PSD has won categorically in these elections. We shall have to build the new government this evening...we invite the other parties and president Basescu to consultations,” Geoana added. “If this someone won in this evening, the winner is the right wing from Romania,” PDL president Emil Boc stated immediately after learning the results of the parliamentary elections. The Democratic Liberal leader thanked its supporters for “our enthusiasm in this electoral campaign, adding that PDL won the best score in its history”. PNL president Calin Popescu Tariceanu, stated after announcing the results in exit-polls, that polls on Sunday proved that the Romanians have confidence in PNL and a liberal view on a proud and prosperous Romania and he called to unity and renouncing to nonsense political disputes.
