The parliamentary elections of this autumn, which are crucial for the Republic of Moldova, are the stake of the new local elections of May 20, said Romanian MP Eugen Tomac, who is the executive president of the People’s Movement Party of Romania. According to him, the May 20 mayoral elections are a test for all those who pretend they want only good to the Republic of Moldova.
In a news conference at IPN, the Romanian MP said the vainglory of Moldovan politicians, who shake hands with difficulty, is a problem. The fact that Maia Sandu, who, according to him, would have beaten any candidate in the elections in Chisinau, wasn’t allowed to run is a conclusive example. “I’m afraid that namely this vainglory would offer more chances for Russia’s flag to be hoisted on the Chisinau City Hall. No one can convince me that the Party of Socialists is not a pro-Russian party, as many say. The PSRM is the expression of the interests of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova,” stated Eugen Tomac.
According to him, for these reasons things should be analyzed attentively. Constantin Codreanu, of the National Unity Party, is the only candidate for mayor who can win against the representative of Plahotniuc or the representative of Dodon. The vote for Constantin Codreanu means a vote for a better future for Chisinau and for the rapprochement with the European Union and Romania. Besides a better life for the city, the very clear political message about Moldova’s future is also important, especially in the context of the upcoming parliamentary elections.
“The people should realize that the rapprochement with Romania is the only option for an honest future. That’s why we insist on this idea as there is no other one,” said Eugen Tomac. He noted that the people should not be absent from the May mayoral elections that will definitely have effects on this autumn’s legislative elections. He called on the residents of Chisinau to vote for Constantin Codreanu, who is one of the most valuable young people in the Republic of Moldova, according to him.
