Parliamentary committee nominates candidates for Broadcasting Council membership

The two candidates to be put up for the two vacancies of members of the Broadcasting Coordinating Council (BCC) have been elected. The media committee of the Moldovan Parliament elected them out of 9 pretenders, on October 22, Info-Prim Neo reports. An employee of the BCC's Licensing Direction, Marian Pocaznoi, has got most of the votes (9 ) while the president of the Peasants Cartel “Sf. Gheorghe”, the journalist Ignat Vasilachi got 8 votes. The lawyer Eugeniu Râbca got 5 votes, the cameraman Ghenadie Brega – 4. The editor-in-chief of Glasul Natiunii, Vasile Nastase, got 3 votes and the president of the Fine Artists Union, Anatol Rurac, 3 votes. The News Department director of NIT TV, Dorin Scobioala, and Victor Buruiana, a producer with Euro TV, have got no supporters. The candidates are to be considered by the Appointments and Immunities Committee of the Parliament, and then will be endorsed by the Parliament. The two position became vacant on October 20, as the mandates of Valeriu Frumusachi and Vlad Turcanu expired. The present members of the BBC are Gheorghe Gorincioi (chairman), Corneliu Mihalache, Carmelia Albu, Valeriu Soltan, Ruslan Plesca, Ludmila Vasilache and Vitalie Tabunscic.
