Parliament decided to create a special commission for drafting a package of legislative amendments on suicide prevention at the proposal of the Socialist group. The commission will assess the general suicide situation and will analyze the factors that determine children and young people to have suicidal behavior, IPN reports.
The nine-member commission will examine the emotional support services for the population and their efficiently or inefficiency and will identify solutions for improving the existing legal framework to prevent suicide.
The commission will include MPs of each parliamentary group and unaffiliated MPs and will be headed by Socialist MP Vladimir Odnostalco. Liberal MP Lilian Carp will serve as deputy chairman. The special commission will present a report and proposals in Parliament within 60 days.
