The MPs decided to constitute a commission of inquiry to assess how the state authorities acted in the process of monitoring the fulfillment of the commitments deriving from the contract for leasing out the assets managed by the Chisinau International Airport. The draft decision, put forward by the Liberal-Democratic group, was adopted by a unanimous vote, IPN reports.
Liberal-Democratic MP Tudor Deliu said such a commission is needed because the working group set up by order of the former Prime Minister formulated ambiguous and contradictory conclusions and even invoked the secrecy of information, while the answer as to when the contract can be terminated was an evasive one.
At the suggestion of Democratic MP Sergiu Sarbu, the name and tasks of the commission were slightly modified. Thus, the commission is to present a report on the performance of the state authorities in the process of monitoring the fulfillment of the commitments deriving from the contract for leasing out the assets managed by the Airport within two months.
The commission will consist of nine members. Each of the parliamentary groups delegated by two representatives to work on it, except for the Liberal group, which will have one representative on it. The commission will be headed by Lib-Dem Iurie Tap.
