The simple motion on the work done by the Ministry of Home Affairs failed given that a quorum was not present at the December 7 sitting of Parliament. Only 38 MPs showed up. The MPs of the Party of Socialists, the Platform “For Moldova”, which includes the Shor group, and the unaffiliated MPs were absent from the sitting, IPN reports.
“I have to ascertain the absence of a quorum. What this means the Constitutional Court explained. The motion failed. I thank those who came and also you, mister minister. We cannot open the sitting,” said Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grechanyi.
The simple motion on the Ministry of Home Affairs’ activity was tabled by the MPs of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” and the Party of Action and Solitary on November 19. According to the authors, the motion is not aimed at obtaining the minister’s dismissal. The Parliament’s position on the work done by this Ministry is wanted in connection with the kidnappings of persons by the Transnistrian bodies.
