The Government approved an amendment to article 10 of the law on the procedure for electing the President of Moldova. According to Deputy Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim, the amendment says the legislative body will be dissolved with a reasonable time, one year after the last dissolution. The amendment proposal was put forward by MP Ion Plesca, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Oleg Efrim said the Constitutional Court warned the Parliament about the absence of legislative provisions concerning the term during which the legislative body should be dissolved. Asked what 'a reasonable time' means, Oleg Efrim said it is a period of half a year.
The Constitutional Court approved two proposals for modifying article 78 of the Constitution, which describes the procedure for electing the head of state. The Parliament will put them to the vote in autumn.
