The monthly state allowances for a number of categories of people will be increased. The MP on November 19 gave two readings to a bill to amend the law on the additional social protection for particular categories of people, IPN reports.
Under the bill, the allowance for the participants in the war for defending the territorial integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova and persons who took part in fighting in Afghanistan and in other states will be raised by 200 lei to 500 lei.
The allowance for persons with disabilities obtained as a result of the two wars and of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster will be increased by 100 lei, to 800 lei for persons with severe disabilities, to 650 lei for persons with accentuated disabilities and to 575 lei to moderately disabled persons.
The allowance for persons who were awarded orders and medals for assiduous work and military service behind the front during World War II will be increased by 100 lei to 275 lei.
A sum of 67.1 million lei is needed to implement the law. The money is to be earmarked by the 20121 state budget law.
