The legislature will have an extraordinary session on January 21. A relevant application was filed by the Parliament’s secretariat, IPN reports. The sitting starts at 3pm. The application to call a plenary sitting was signed by a group of MPs representing the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and the Democratic Party (PDM). The session will last until January 30.
The MPs proposed that the agenda of the January 21 sitting should include the election of the Head and Deputy Heads of Parliament, the formation of the Standing Bureau and the constitution of the permanent commissions.
On January 19, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat said the administration of the legislative body is to be elected in the January 21 sitting of Parliament. If an agreement to form a government coalition between the PLDM, PDM and the Liberal Party is not reached, they will ask for the votes of the other lawmakers to choose the legislature’s administration.
