Parliament sitting scheduled for August 6

The MPs of the eleventh legislature will come together for a meeting on August 6, starting at 10am. The Parliament’s Standing Bureau decided to convoke an extraordinary session of the legislative body. The agenda of the sitting includes the giving of a vote of confidence to the government program and the whole Cabinet, IPN reports.

In the extraordinary session, there will be debated the draft decision to amend the Parliament decision on the numerical composition of the Standing Bureau. There will also be approved the nominal composition of the delegations of Moldova’s Parliament to the international parliamentary organizations and the bilateral parliamentary organizations.

The new Parliament consists of the groups of the Party of Action and Solidarity (63 seats), the Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists (32 seats) and the Shor Party (six seats).

The legislative body has two ordinary sessions a year. The spring session starts in February and ends in July, while the autumn session begins in September and closes in December. The legislature can also call extraordinary sessions at the request of the President, the Speaker or one third of the MPs.
