The lawmakers rejected the legislative initiative of the Communist MPs, who proposed that the medical examination of the state of health of the mind should be obligatory for the candidates for a public post, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Communists submitted the proposal last year. The initiative specified that the persons with such diseases as chronic mental disorders with persistent severe manifestations, behavioral disorders caused by the use of psychotropic substances, the syndrome of alcoholic dependence and drug addiction cannot apply for public positions.
The Communist lawmakers were absent from the July 8 sitting of the legislative body, where the bill was examined. Earlier, they said they will resume attending the sittings after the court takes a decision as regards the validation of the seat of mayor of Dorin Chirtoaca.
