Parliament ratifies protocol allowing recognizing Moldovan property in Ukraine

The Parliament ratified the protocol between the Government of Moldova and the Government of Ukraine concerning the amendment of the intergovernmental agreement on the mutual recognition of rights and regulation of property relations, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Popov said the Ukrainian executive will ratify the protocol at the end of September, after the Ukrainian lawmakers return from vacation.
According to Andrei Popov, after the document is ratified by the two sides there will be created the legal basis for extending the discussions on the property relations and the talks on the recognition of the Moldovan property located on Ukraine’s territory will open. The protocol applies to three facilities that could not be recognized on the basis of the agreement. They include a quarry in Pervomaisk and another one in Cernauti and the hydroenergy barrage in Novodnestrovsk.
The deputy minister also said that the protocol will enable to strengthen the commercial and economic relations between the two countries.
The ratification of the given protocol was agreed in 2008.
