Parliament ratifies agreement on participation in the EU "Justice" program

The Republic of Moldova will benefit from European grants to strengthen democracy, the rule of law, and the protection of fundamental rights. The Parliament has ratified, in two readings, the Agreement with the European Union on participation in the EU "Justice" Programs (2021-2027), IPN reports.

The agreement will provide funding to support judicial cooperation in both civil and criminal matters by training judges and legal professionals and facilitating equal access to justice for all. The program is intended for national authorities and civil society organizations.

In the same session, the Parliament also passed in the first reading the Agreement with the EU on participation in the "Citizens, Equality, Rights, and Values" Program (2021-2027).

This program will be accessible to both individuals and civil society organizations. According to the document, Moldova will contribute to three key components: promoting human rights, non-discrimination, and gender equality, encouraging citizen engagement and participation in the democratic life of the European Union, combating violence, including gender-based violence.
