Parliament - People’s Assembly cooperation platform institutionalized

The cooperation platform between Parliament and the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia has been institutionalized. Speaker Andrian Candu on January 28 signed an order by which five MPs are delegated to serve on the working group, based on the proposals submitted by parliamentary groups, IPN reports.

According to the Parliament’s press service, the working group consists of Maria Postoico, Chiril Luchinski, Elena Bacalu, Roman Botan, and Vladimir Turcanu. The MPs Elena Bodnarenco, Vadim Pistrinciuc, Sergei Sarbu, Ion Casian, and Fiodor Gagauz were designated as substitute candidates.

The People’s Assembly of Gagauzia will be represented by deputies Alexandr Tarnavschii, Ivan Burgudji, Ivan Topal, Gheorghii Leiciu and Serghei Cimpoies.

The working group will be offered expertise, technical support and training by Moldova’s foreign partners and by competent NGOs.

The working group for ensuring the functionality of the autonomous territorial unit of Gagauzia and the legal provisions of Moldova concerning the special status of Gagauzia was set up on the initiative of Andrian Candu with the aim of ensuring a mechanism of cooperation between Parliament and the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia.
